CIRCULAR PAINTINGS

Scrutinize visible objects, reducing and transforming the perceived into simple structures. 

A circular form is composed of two wooden semicircles with a horizontal line of intersection (division) whereby the two halves are being treated with different painting and drawing techniques. A tension of unity and separation is created by juxtaposing monochromatic areas of colour on one semicircle and line structures based on the wood grain on the other semicircle. The individual circles differ in size, colour, light-dark contrast and drawing structures.
